I’m sure you’ve heard that the best way to lose weight is diet and exercise: You need to control what you eat (but not necessarily “go on a diet”), and you need to exercise.
The secret the multi-billion dollar weight loss industry doesn’t want you to know is that all their diets with the clever, catchy names are designed to make them money, not to help you lose weight and keep it off! Once you start buying their food, they want you to keep buying their food for the rest of your life . . . and you have to eat what they want you to eat!
No wonder they don’t work for long! People who go “on a diet” quickly regain all their weight and more once they go “off” their diet. It becomes a never-ending cycle of hope followed by disappointment.
As we grow older we naturally lose muscle mass and gain fat – it starts to happen in our early twenties . . . and just goes downhill from there. The average adult is on a runaway train that starts with slower movement, builds to nagging discomfort, and eventually ends in a heart attack.
The good news is that you can reverse the ravages of age with a consistent exercise program. Zumba will help you achieve your goals all while learning some new dance moves. Imagine feeling young again, with all the strength and confidence you had at 18 . . . but with today’s wisdom!
A simple law of physics is that a body at rest tends to stay at rest, and a body in motion tends to stay in motion.
If you’ve gotten out of shape because you don’t have a consistent exercise program, it’s no surprise that you don’t feel energetic — you have a body at rest. The more you stay on the couch, growing roots like a potato, the less energy you will have. Your future includes laziness, apathy, and maybe even depression.
Once you develop a body in motion, it will be easier to stay in motion. As you lose weight and gain strength, you will feel more energy to participate in sports again, play with your children (or even grandchildren), and actually enjoy the feel of your body as you exercise.
You gain both power and stamina because our unique program of Power Breathing stimulates your internal organs along with your muscles. You become healthier from the inside out, feeling a wellspring of internal energy.
If you’re like me, you know that the current research says exercise not only helps us look and feel our best, it helps us stay a lot healthier.
We all know that we SHOULD exercise, but the problem with most exercise programs is that they are just too BORING! Running or even walking mile after mile, or lifting the same weight 10 – 20 – 30 times just gets old fast . . . AND it usually hurts!
Our “Lean and Mean” fitness program is totally different.
Every movement has a purpose .
I’m very proud to say that HUNDREDS of adults in the Maplewood area have a BLAST in every class while learning awesome skills in Zumba, Xtreme Kickboxing, and Group Aerobics. Come join me and start watching the pounds melt away.

People believe that martial arts training is just another extra curricular activity, that is a misconception. There is not any program that is going to give you the benefits that you receive from martial arts training. Many people think the martial arts are just about fighting, the truth is that the physical “kicking and punching” are really just the tools that I use to teach the more important, and MUCH more valuable lessons about yourself.
